Check in,
chill out
An affordable surf lodge between Towan and Fistral, with our own surf school next door. Great waves, good times and a bed that doesn’t break the bank.
Between
two beaches
Elemental Surf Lodge is the budget-friendly base for surf trips, group getaways and seaside weekends, sat on Tower Road between Towan and the world-famous Fistral Beach.
Check in and chill out. There’s a welcoming lounge and dining area to land in, private rooms sleeping one to eight, and our own Elemental Surf Academy right next door. Wake up, grab a board and be on the sand inside ten minutes.
Behind the lodge is Elemental UK, twenty years deep in Newquay’s surfing community as a surf school, watersports centre and tour operator. Whether you’re here for a first lesson, a uni trip or a quiet week of waves, you’re in safe hands.

Got a question?
01 What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 4:00pm to 6:30pm, giving you plenty of time to arrive and settle in. Check-out is by 10:00am on your day of departure.
02 Is breakfast included?
A continental breakfast is served every morning in the shared dining area. It’s included with some room rates, or you can book it at check-in. Either way, there are tea and coffee making facilities in your room.
03 Is parking available at the lodge?
We have a small on-site car park, but spaces are extremely limited and must be booked in advance by phone on +44 1637 808 800. Parking costs £10 per night, per car. If we’re full, there are four long-stay car parks within a five-minute walk.
04 Can I store my surfboard and wetsuit?
Absolutely. We have a dedicated, secure board storage and drying area, accessible from 8am to 6pm unless you’ve pre-agreed other times with the lodge team, and outdoor showers so you can rinse off the salt before heading inside. Bring the boards. They have a home.
05 How do surf lessons work?
Lessons run for two hours and meet at the lodge, where we sort wetsuits and boards before walking down to Fistral together. Groups are up to eight people per instructor, and lodge guests get discounted rates on lessons and hire. Book ahead. The academy fills up fast in summer.
06 Can children surf and stay?
Families are very welcome, with rooms sleeping up to eight. The minimum age for group surf lessons is 8; children aged 6 to 8 can take a private lesson with a parent or guardian in the water. In the school holidays, our Kids Club keeps younger surfers busy all week.
07 Is there a curfew or lock-out?
No lock-out time. You have 24/7 access to the lodge with your own key. We do ask all guests to respect quiet hours between 10:00pm and 7:30am. The lodge is fun and relaxed, but it’s not a party hostel.
08 Can we leave bags before check-in or after check-out?
Yes, as long as you confirm it with reception first. Drop your bags off early and head straight to the beach, or leave them with us on departure day and make the most of your last few hours in Newquay. The team will agree drop-off and collection times with you. The storage isn’t accessible around the clock.
